Lupe Fiasco to Kick Off ‘The Cool’ 15-Year Anniversary Shows

Lupe Fiasco is giving his longtime fans a special moment of nostalgia over the next month as the Chicago rapper lined up several shows to celebrate the 15th anniversary of his 2007 album The Cool by performing the critically acclaimed release in its entirety with a live band. The platinum-selling album includes the hit single “Superstar” along with lyrical feats like “Dumb It Down” and “Hip-Hop Saved My Life.”

The first performance scheduled will take place at NYC’s SummerStage in Central Park next Wednesday (Sept. 7), with additional dates in Washington D.C., Boston, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

Lupe—who released his eighth studio album Drill Music in Zion earlier this year—previously performed his debut album Food & Liquor in its entirety.

Tickets and additional information for the NYC show, which is presented by MeanRed Productions, can be found here. Complex readers receive a $5 discount on tickets with the discount code: COMPLEX5.
