Lil Uzi Vert Teases New Music: ‘Going Back to Classic Mode’

It looks like Lil Uzi Vert is working on new music. It’s been a minute since Uzi first started to promote The Pink Tape. Since revealing its title, Uzi has continued to tease music, most recently last month when he said that he’s “putting” his “all into this album.”

On Tuesday, Uzi took to his Instagram Story to seemingly hype his next offering, whatever it might be.

“This time less talkin’ more working,” Uzi wrote on IG. “Going back in classic mode. I been [through] 2 much this time around. Nothin’ can break me.”

In a recent interview with XXLPlayboi Carti said that Uzi has been busy in the studio. “Uzi is working on mad music right now,” Carti revealed

The Pink Tape, if it does get released next, would mark Uzi’s first full-length project since November 2020, when he joined forces with Future for their collaborative album, Pluto x Baby Pluto. Prior to that, Uzi shared his Eternal Atake album in March of 2020. Back in 2021, Uzi said that he was taking his time with The Pink Tape “so it won’t suck.”

Meanwhile, Uzi has continued his momentum with a string of guest features on recent tracks from Pooh Shiesty (“Next Up”), Pusha-T (“Scrape It Off”), and Yeat (“Big Tonka”), among others.

While fans await the release of Uzi’s forthcoming effort, the Philadelphia rapper will perform at the HARD Summer Music Festival in July, before making an appearance at San Francisco’s Outside Lands Festival in August alongside Jack HarlowPusha-TPhoebe BridgersKali Uchis, and others.
