Knocked Loose have announced a new album, You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To, arriving May 10th via Pure Noise Records. The video for the lead single “Blinding Faith” is available to stream below.
The news comes as the Kentucky hardcore outfit wrap up a European/UK tour before returning to North American for a spring headlining tour featuring support from Show Me the Body and Loathe. The extensive outing will kick off April 27th at Sick New World in Las Vegas and run through a June 9th show in St. Petersburg, Florida, with tickets available here.
The new song “Blinding Faith” has already been popping up in setlists and is a crushing example of the band’s sound on its new LP. Everything has been cranked the extreme, from Brian Garris’ throat-shredding vocals to the whiplash tempo changes and frenetic guitar work. This is hardcore verging on metalcore/industrial nu-metal, with obvious religious commentary in the form of the lyrics, album title/cover, and the music video.
“It was just hilarious how many people showed up to church that I knew were rude, horrible, selfish people,” said guitarist Isaac Hale in a press release, driving home that religious aspect. “They knew that it made them seem like a better person — or if they said the words, it would redeem them of any negative quality just because they showed face.”
The fatalistic album title, meanwhile, derives from Garris’ “borderline phobia of flying.” During one particularly trying flight, he expressed his anxiety to the passenger seated beside him, a woman who reassured him: “You won’t go before you’re supposed to.”

The album runs 10 songs across 27 minutes was produced by Drew “WZRD BLD” Fulk. Hale admitted that it is indeed the most extreme offering from Knocked Loose to date.
“On this album, we go the fastest we’ve ever gone; we go the scariest we’ve ever gone,” he said. “We also go the catchiest and the most melodic that we’ve ever gone, and that’s the point. Instead of branching off into a specific direction, we want to encompass ALL directions.”
