Fresh off providing fans with the best news they’ve heard in years, Kendrick Lamar hit up a Los Angeles Dodgers game.
Indeed, as seen in footage and photos from Tuesday night’s game against the Atlanta Braves, Kendrick was in attendance alongside pgLang-partnered artist Tanna Leone. Per Dodgers Nation, Kendrick was seated in the right-field pavilion area.
Of course, Kendrick is a noted Dodgers supporter, having previously thrown out the first pitch at a game back in 2015. Following the ceremonial first pitch, Kendrick also treated attendees with a brief interview discussing his new (at the time) album, To Pimp a Butterfly. Revisit that below.
This week, mere days after the fifth anniversary of DAMN., Kendrick announced the title and release date of his new album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. Notably, the announcement took the form of a press release “from the desk of oklama,” marking the use of a name Kendrick has been teasing over the past year.
An accompanying oklama site sees “theheart” utilized in a url capacity, a detail that’s been interpreted by some fans as potentially being a sign that Kendrick’s “The Heart” series could also be continuing.
The album is out on May 13. In the meantime, here’s everything we know about this new chapter in Kendrick’s artistic journey.
