Johnny Depp will perform alongside Jeff Beck at the 56th edition of the Montreux Jazz Festival on July 15.
The iconic Swiss music festival starts July 1 and runs through July 16 on the Lake Geneva shoreline. Johnny Depp is a surprise guest at the festival, performing with the previously announced Jeff Beck on the Auditorium Stravinski stage.
Depp has joined Beck for several performances on his latest tour, and the two have been friends for years. The friendship has culminated in an upcoming album, beginning with the release of their first single, a cover of John Lennon’s “Isolation.” Depp also recently sang his self-penned “This Is a Song for Miss Hedy Lamarr,” accompanied by Beck on guitar, at their performance at the Royal Albert Hall on May 31.
Johnny Depp first performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2018 with his supergroup, the Hollywood Vampires, alongside Alice Cooper and Joe Perry. Twice-inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, guitar guru Jeff Beck has collaborated with numerous musicians throughout his career, including Stevie Wonder and Mick Jagger.
Many other performers will appear on the Auditorium Stravinski stage for this year’s event, including legendary Motown singer Diana Ross, Icelandic pop artist Björk, alt-rock icon Nick Cave, Radiohead-spinoff The Smile, UK Eurovision star Sam Ryder, and more.
