Ice Spice continues to leave her mark as her recent “Karma” collaboration with Taylor Swift earns her the biggest streaming debut for a female rapper in Spotify history.

Ice Spice’s “Karma” collaboration with Taylor Swift, released on Friday as a bonus track on Swift’s deluxe album, Midnights (The Til Dawn Edition), earned over five million streams on the platform on its first day. That number launched “Karma” to No. 5 on the global Spotify chart, earning Ice Spice the biggest streaming day of her young career on Spotify — accounting for nearly half her 10.5 million plays that day.

According to Chart Data, this is a new record, breaking Nicki Minaj’s previous record for the biggest streaming debut for a female hip-hop artist on Spotify with her “Super Freaky Girl,” which opened with more than three million streams following its August 2022 release.

That said, Nicki Minaj has been one of Ice Spice’s biggest celebrity champions — and time will tell if her competitive nature gets the better of her. In March, she further boosted Ice Spice’s rapidly-rising career by anointing her the “princess” of hip-hop and joining the remix of her track “Princess Diana.”

That song further boosted Nicki’s own highly-lucrative career, becoming her 14th No. 1 hit on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart — surpassing a record previously held by Drake.

“Karma” further propels Ice Spice’s rise to stardom as she joined Taylor Swift to perform the song on stage as a surprise guest during Swift’s Eras Tour show at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

And now, there’s already a music video of the collaboration — featuring Swift as the scales of justice and sitting in an hourglass, while Ice Spice sits in a seashell like Aphrodite, holding a pearl. The two even lasso the moon and planet Jupiter.
