“I Don’t Want to Die in America”

"I Don't Want to Die in America"

Ozzy Osbourne has opened up about his decision to relocate from Los Angeles to his estate in Buckinghamshire, UK.

While previous reports had cited Ozzy’s health and California’s taxes as reasons for the move, a moral stake also factored into Ozzy and his wife Sharon’s decision.

In a new interview with The Observer, Sharon expressed that the relocation has nothing to do with Ozzy’s health, but rather the prevalence of mass shootings and political division in the US. Also, Ozzy doesn’t want to be buried among the other celebrities in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles.

“I knew people would think that [it was about Ozzy’s health],” Sharon said. “It’s not. It’s just time. America has changed so drastically. It isn’t the United States of America at all. Nothing’s united about it. It’s a very weird place to live right now.”

Added Ozzy: “Everything’s fucking ridiculous there. I’m fed up with people getting killed every day. God knows how many people have been shot in school shootings. And there was that mass shooting in Vegas at that concert… It’s fucking crazy. And I don’t want to die in America. I don’t want to be buried in fucking Forest Lawn. I’m English. I want to be back. But saying that, if my wife said we’ve got to go and live in Timbuktu, I’ll go. But, no, it’s just time for me to come home.”

Ozzy and Sharon have big plans for their Buckinghamshire estate once they arrive. As previously reported, the Osbournes have applied to install bat boxes at the home. The Prince of Darkness is infamous for once biting the head off a bat during a concert in 1982, mistaking it for a rubber toy. But now Ozzy is now looking to aid the creatures, as bat boxes serve to protect bats and their babies from predators and cold temperatures. The mansion is also being equipped with recording studio and a “rehabilitation wing” to aid in his health.

Ozzy’s new album Patient No. 9 is set to arrive on September 9th and can be pre-ordered here. A 25-foot inflatable Ozzy is currently making its way across America to promote the new LP.
