GoFundMe Campaign Raises Over $500 to Replace DJ Decks Drenched in Urine

In a turn of events that’s as unfortunate as it is “pee-culiar,” an Illinois-based event producer has rallied the electronic music community in a unique fundraising effort to replace DJ decks damaged by urine.

After an overzealous raver quite literally dampened the spirits at a “Ravesgiving” holiday event by urinating above the DJ booth and soaking a DJ controller below, NERV MHZ launched a GoFundMe campaign with a target of $1,500. This fundraiser has already made a splash, raising over $500 to replace the equipment.

NERV MHZ says the equipment is being evaluated as to whether repairs will be possible, but the author has touted that at any rate, the funds will be used to augment the performance equipment at their events. As a token of appreciation, they plan to create a special mix dedicated to the donors in a wholesome reminder of the dance music community’s ability to stick together through thick and thin, or in this case, wet and dry.

“From the bottom of my heart, a ginormous thank you so much to everyone who donated,” NERV wrote to donors in a recent campaign update. “To be honest, we did not expect this much support towards this cause but we’re extremely grateful for every single one of you that either shared or donated.”
