It’s Defected Records‘ world, and we’re just living in it.
Following the conclusion of their recent festivities in Malta and Dubai, Defected has revealed their next leg of expansion: a New Year’s celebration that spans all six inhabited continents.
Underpinned by the theme of connection, the ambitious initiative speaks to the core ethos of Defected, EDM.com‘s best record label of 2022, which has always been about uniting the global house music community. By tapping into the idea that anyone on Earth can be linked through a maximum of six connections, the label emphasizes the importance of human relationships and seeks to honor its vast community of global music aficionados.
With events in Johannesburg, Sydney, London, Las Vegas, Buenos Aires and Koh Samui, they’re truly hitting all corners of the globe.
“This event is not just another event,” said George Pritchard, Director of Events & Talent at Defected. “It is a testament to the enduring spirit of electronic music and the passionate community that has grown around it. From North America to Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia, and South America, we will be bringing the Defected experience to some of the world’s most iconic venues including London’s OVO Arena, Wembley.”
The lineup for the London leg boasts house music giants Sam Divine, Low Steppa, Ferreck Dawn and more. As the clock strikes midnight and we usher in the new year, Glitterbox will take over, featuring a showcase with the likes of Eats Everything, Groove Armada and The Shapeshifters. Fans can expect the unexpected, with spontaneous confetti showers and a diverse array of performers adding to the spectacle.
Details of the lineups for the other continents remain under wraps for now, but you can see the event heatmap for Defected’s global NYE 2024 plans below.
