Cardi B went viral this weekend after she was seen doing her signature twerk during a set at the Revolve Festival.
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper, whose real name is Belcalis Almánzar, raised eyebrows on Saturday as she performed at the annual, invite-only event hosted by the online retailer in Thermal, Calif., during the first weekend of Coachella.
While Cardi, 32, appeared to be having the time of her life while performing hits like “WAP” and “I Like It,” fans gave the rapper mixed reviews.
“Cardi B roasted online for the bizarre shape of her surgically enhanced body while performing on stage at Coachella,” wrote influencer Oli London.
But others flooded social media with support.
“Leave Cardi alone, trolls,” one person commented. “Get a life,” responded someone else.
The “Money” rapper has been open about her plastic surgery history — and even came clean about her decision to remove her butt injections over the last few years.
“In January, right after I shot ‘Like What,’ I went and got surgery,” she revealed on Instagram in October. “I got some more butt injections removed. Because, you know, it takes rounds to get your butt injections removed. And I also went to fix, like, you know, certain things with my fibrosis.”
Before her confession in October, Cardi had revealed that she received her first butt filler injections “illegally” in a Queens basement in 2014 for $800.
“They don’t numb your ass with anything,” she told GQ in 2018 regarding the procedure. “It was the craziest pain ever. I felt like I was gonna pass out. I felt a little dizzy.”
She then revealed she was in the process of having her injections removed, and warned her young female fans to stay away from butt injections.
“In August, I got surgery, and I removed 95% of my biopolymers,” Cardi said in a 2022 Instagram video. “If you don’t know what it is, it’s ass shots.”
She continued, “All I’m going to say is that if you’re young, if you’re 19, 20, 21, and sometimes you’re too skinny, and you be like, ‘OMG I don’t have enough fat to put in my ass,’ so you result to ass shots, DON’T!”
Besides her appearance at the Revolve Festival on Saturday, Cardi has also made recent headlines for her split from her estranged husband, rapper Offset, and her rumored relationship with NFL star Stefon Diggs.
Cardi also welcomed her third child, a baby girl whom she shares with Offset, in September. Her daughter’s birth came two months after she filed for divorce from the Migos rapper for a second time in July 2024.
