Beyonce refused to let Blue Ivy perform 'Renaissance' tour at first

Beyoncé wasn’t “Crazy in Love” with her daughter wanting to perform.

The musician revealed that she initially refused to let her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, perform during her “Renaissance” World Tour.

“She told me she was ready to perform, and I told her no,” Beyonce, 42, said in her new concert documentary “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé,” per the New York Times.

According to the “Single Ladies” singer, Blue’s appearance was supposed to be a one-and-done sort of deal. However, the 11-year-old offspring of Beyoncé and rapper Jay-Z managed to negotiate a more permanent position on her mother’s stage.

Beyoncé revealed in the film that she was also dismayed when her daughter, who was a backup dancer for the songs “My Power” and “Black Parade,” became the subject of online criticism.

“Beyoncé was dismayed when Blue Ivy read comments on social media that criticized her lackluster
moves,” the news outlet wrote.

Despite the overwhelming pressure to quit, the “Halo” hitmaker was reportedly “thrilled” when her daughter “decided to put in the work and train even harder for future stops.”

Fans of the “Beautiful Liar” singer also took notice of Blue’s progress from her first show in May, in which she can be seen to be hesitant, to the final show of the tour where she nails every number.

“F – – k those haters, they could never! Blue Ivy is an absolute Queen!” one user posted on X (formerly Twitter). “She was f—king amazing, her future is so bright!”

“I’m proud of Blue Ivy’s talent and resilience. She’s 11, she’s still learning how to be a performer,” a second fan gushed. “But she’s going to get better and better as she gets older. I hate that adults are hating on a child.”

In August, former Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland also opened up about Blue’s work ethic and commitment to getting better.

“I’m very proud,” Rowland, 42, told E! News. “She works very freaking hard, period. But how could she not, you know? She sees her mother in action and she sees her father in action and how they apply … hard work to everything that they do.”

This is not the first time that Blue has taken to the stage with her famous mom.

In January, she performed alongside Queen Bey at Atlantis The Royal Hotel’s opening in Dubai.

It marked Bey’s first public performance in five years, the last being the Global Citizen Festival in Johannesburg, South Africa, in December 2018.
