There’s so much good music out in the ether that sometimes it’s difficult to parse through all of it. Every week The Daily Music Report will do the hard work for you and highlight the best releases available on streaming services.

This week we’re highlighting new music from Wilco, Your Old Droog, and Dehd.

Wilco – Cruel Country

On their latest album, Cruel Country, Wilco reach back 27 years to their debut album, A.M. for inspiration. On it, the band leans heavily on their country sound that was so prevalent on that first album in 1995. In a recent statement Jeff Tweedy had this to say about the overarching sound on the album, “With this album though, I’ll tell you what, Wilco is digging in and calling it Country.” Primarily consisting of live takes, the album was recorded at The Loft, the band’s recording studio in Chicago. Cruel Country is the Chicago band’s twelfth studio album and spans 21 tracks over two albums.
