Experimental/Electronic outfit 0171 (Joe Bedell-Brill and Georgie Hoare) turn in an eccentric, genre-bending EP, Welcome Back To My Channel, that firmly places the Hackney duo on solid ground.

London duo 0171 (aka Joe Bedell-Brill and Georgie Hoare) have released a new double-video for two new tracks: ‘Welcome Back To My Channel’ and ‘The Utopians.’ The two new tracks come from their latest EP, Welcome Back To My Channel, which has also been released today, June 15 (self-released).

The new 5-track EP follows the duo’s two widely acclaimed EPs: Red Light (2019), and Change Nothing (2020). With Welcome Back To My Channel, 0171 have created a dreamy, avant-garde 17-minute collection that is wonderfully weird, dense, and multi-layered. The duo discusses the writing process and what made the experience so special:

“At times we’d been feeling like we were losing ourselves, forgetting to be nice to ourselves,” the pair explain. “We wrote most of it in a cottage surrounded by sheep in Wales with no running water, and it did end up being a form of therapy for us – taking us from our lowest point in music to a place of positivity and love.”

With a nondescript name like 0171, the duo has stated that they want their music to stand on its own without any preconceptions. And Welcome Back To My Channel not only stands on its own but is also leading the charge of what is capable in music when you push boundaries. Produced and written by 0171 and mixed by Joe Visciano (Frank Ocean, Earl Sweatshirt, Jamie xx, SZA), Welcome Back To My Channel is available on all streaming services starting June 15, 2022.
