Jennifer Lopez To Keep $5.6M Green Diamond Ring From Ben Affleck

Jennifer Lopez has filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, leading many to speculate about the fate of her $5.6 million green engagement ring.

According to a report, the actress, who has kept rings from past relationships, will likely add this one to her collection, now valued at over $17 million.

Jennifer Lopez’s divorce filing coincides with the second anniversary of Georgia’s wedding to Ben Affleck, and sources suggest there was no prenuptial agreement.

After her first relationship with Affleck ended in 2004, Lopez reportedly kept the pink diamond engagement ring Affleck the actor gave her, as well as the rings from her former husbands, Marc Anthony, Cris Judd, and Ojani Noa.

Despite never marrying him, Lopez also has the engagement ring from former professional baseball player Alex Rodriguez.

According to Laura Taylor, an engagement ring specialist at Lorel Diamonds, Lopez’s collection represents different chapters in her life.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Taylor explained: “In the United States, engagement rings are typically considered gifts, meaning J.Lo is legally entitled to keep the ring after the divorce unless agreed otherwise in a prenup…”

Since Lopez and Affleck reportedly didn’t have a prenup, the 8.5-carat green cushion-cut diamond ring will likely become the newest addition to her collection.

Given Lopez’s history, it is likely that Affleck’s green engagement ring will join her already impressive collection, which now boasts a total value of over $17 million.

Taylor highlighted that Lopez’s most valuable piece remains the $6.5 million blue diamond ring from Anthony.

She said: “The most expensive ring she has kept is the blue diamond ring from Anthony, which she described in a 2021 interview as her most treasured piece of jewelry, even more so than the pink diamond Ben gave her during their first engagement.”

“While her latest engagement ring is certainly beautiful, I suspect that the engagement ring from Anthony will still hold the top spot for her,” Taylor noted. “She was married to Marc for ten years, and they share two children from that marriage, so I think it is a lot more sentimental for her, not to mention it being the most expensive in her collection thanks to the size, quality, and it being one of the rarest colored diamonds in the world, just ahead of green diamonds.”

Taylor also offered insights and valuations for the six engagement rings in Lopez’s impressive collection.

“The first engagement ring J.Lo received was from Ojani Noa in 1997. This was a 3.5-carat marquise-cut diamond on a yellow gold band, simple yet elegant, valued today at around $130k,” she said.

The ring expert continued: “Cris Judd proposed in 2001 with an emerald-cut diamond, set on a platinum band with diamond pavé, and is worth around $200k.”

“Ben Affleck’s first proposal in 2002 made headlines with a 6-carat radiant-cut pink diamond flanked by two white trapezoid-cut diamonds, set on a platinum band,” Taylor noted. “This iconic ring is valued at approximately $2.6m and is one of the most famous colored diamond engagement rings in the world.”

Concluding her valuation, Taylor added: “The most expensive and rarest ring in J.Lo’s collection, a magnificent 8.5-carat blue radiant-cut diamond, flanked by trapezoid-cut diamonds on a platinum band, was given to her by Marc Anthony and is worth $6.5m today.”

Lopez’s $2m engagement ring from Rodriguez and her latest $5.6m engagement ring from Affleck all add up to the $17m value of her ring collection.

Lopez officially filed for divorce from Affleck on Tuesday, August 20. According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the “Atlas” star submitted the paperwork to L.A. County Superior Court without legal representation.

The date of separation is listed as April 26, 2024, but the filing coincides with the second anniversary of their second wedding and lavish ceremony in Georgia.

The publication also reported that Lopez’s documents do not confirm whether a prenuptial agreement exists, though sources suggest there is no prenup in place.

News of their split comes just months after the “Jenny From the Block” singer spoke of the “real, true love” between them, sharing how their reunion inspired her latest album, “This Is Me… Now,” which she described as a celebration of their unexpected second chance at “true love.”

According to the Daily Mail, a source revealed that Lopez’s close pals think she needs to “look inside herself” and not think about what others want.

Her decision to divorce Affleck means she has ended her marriage for the fourth time, and this has allegedly left her friends “fed up with her antics.”

“After four failed marriages, her friends feel that she should look inside and focus on herself instead of what others want her to be and finally figure out who she is and what she wants from her future,” the insider said.
