As the year wraps up, we have begun our Annual Report with Consequence’s Top 50 Albums of the Year list, which is essential reading for anyone looking to catch up on all of the amazing tunes released this year. Def Leppard and Journey Announce Joint 2024 Tour — Featuring extra touring support from classic bands such as Steve Miller Band, Cheap Trick, and Heart, the two heavyweights have announced a North American tour. Taking them through the summer, the 23-date trek begins July 6th in St. Louis, with a Ticketmaster pre-sale beginning next Thursday, December 14th.
Sublime to Reunite with Bradley Nowell’s Son — Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh, original members of legendary band Sublime, are reuniting for a performance with Jakob Nowell, the son of original singer Bradley Nowell. Marking the first time the three will perform together, the show will take place at a benefit concert for Bad Brains’ frontman H.R., which takes place December 11th in Los Angeles. While they will not be playing under the name Sublime, there are rumors that a proper reunion may be in the works.
Limp Bizkit Announces 2024 Tour with Corey Feldman, Bones — In the midst of a slight career renaissance for Limp Bizkit and frontman Fred Durst, the nu-metal band has announced a new tour. Taking them through North America during the summer, the shows will feature support from famed child actor-turned rocker Corey Feldman; rappers Bones, Eddy Baker, and Xavier Wulf of underground group SesHolloWaterBoyz, synth-punker N8NOFACE; and rapper Riff Raff, who will appear as MC. Tickets are on sale now.
“Weird Al” Responds to Viral Spotify Wrapped Comments — During this year’s Spotify Wrapped festivities, musicians were given the chance to record short messages for fans, with “Weird Al” Yankovic taking the opportunity to put the company on blast for their artist payout. When later asked about it during an interview with Consequence, he said he “did it as a goof,” but that there was truth to his words, continuing to criticize the company for underpaying its artists, saying that there’s a reason why he doesn’t release albums anymore.
