Selena Gomez is advocating for natural beauty, and fans commended her for this.

The “Barney And Friends” actress gave her fans a breath of fresh air when she shared pictures of herself without makeup and heavy filters.

It’s the trend for most celebrities to post edited snaps of themselves in makeup, so it felt refreshing for fans to see Gomez all natural.

Selena Gomez Flaunts A Makeup Free Look

Gomez looked all-natural, down to her hair, in the recent snaps on her Instagram. The photos were presumably taken as Gomez enjoyed a relaxing time. She sported a casual blue sweater as she posed on a couch. Her makeup-free face had a blemish — zit — at her upper lip, and her natural hair was styled in a center part.

The Disney star kept the post’s caption simple, writing, “me.” In no time, fans gushed about the singer’s natural beauty while commending her for showing herself makeup-free and filter-free.

One follower commented, “I used to not understand the fascination people have with you. But since you started to talk about mental health, launched your skincare, and try to normalize natural looks, I am a fan!” Another fan gushed, “Sooooooo beautiful, omg,” while an observer suggested that Gomez should be standard for women now.

Similarly, a fan showered praises on the “High School Musical” star for being a good example. The fan wrote, “Thank you, thank you, thank you, for being a true role model for young women. You show them that they are beautiful without all the glamor, and that’s something that is so very essential to the well-being of our young people. Magazines and social media give such a warped idea of what beauty is. Keep being you!!”

An admirer expressed love for the 30-year-old, writing, “Not gonna lie. I am being totally honest and coming from my whole heart as I love Selena in every era just gotta day, you look way prettier without makeup, you still look 22. Such a beauty. Another fan added, “You and your natural hair,” adding several heart eyes emojis.

The singer has accepted her natural self, regardless, so when fans body-shamed her for gaining weight, she embraced it wholly. As we previously reported, the “People You Know” hitmaker was trolled for her appearance at the 2023 Golden Globes.

One troll had dissed the actress that her “body would be similar to ur moms” if she kept allowing her weight to fluctuate, while another suggested, “Selena, time to get in shape.” A Twitter user said the singer looked a “bit dumpy.”

The Teens Choice Award recipient replied to the negative comments in an Instagram Live session noting how she enjoyed her holiday. She said, “I’m a little bit big right now because I enjoyed myself during the holidays.”

After making this statement, Gomez and her 9-year-old sister, who was also on the live video, burst into laughter and then added, “But we don’t care.”  This message was similar to her TikTok video, where she branded herself as perfect regardless of her weight.

In the clip, the Rare Beauty founder said, “I be trying to stay skinny, but I went to Jack in the Box, and I got four tacos, three egg rolls, onion rings, and a spicy chicken sandwich.” She continued, “But honestly, I don’t care about my weight because people bitch about it anyway: ‘You’re too small.’ ‘You’re too big.’ ‘That doesn’t fit.’ ‘Meh meh meh meh.’ B**ch, I am perfect the way I am. Moral of the story? Bye.”

Jameela Jamil Defended Selena Gomez Amid Weight Gain Backlash

At the time when fans criticized Gomez for her weight gain, celebrities defended her. Per The Blast, one such celebrity who supported Gomez was Jameela Jamil.

The former BBC Radio 1 presenter took to her Instagram stories to rant about the negative comments about Gomez. Jamil began her statement by pointing out that the fact that Gomez felt attacked enough to “explain or defend her size” was “a sign that we are colossally FAILING as a society.”

She added that it was unnecessary for anyone to “justify their size” because “Nobody has any right to comment on or understand someone else’s body.” Jamil also said that with the “return of size zero,” because “all these f**king celebrities taking diabetes meds to be skinny.” Jamil proposed that the tradition of “women apologizing for their bodies” should not come back.

“The Good Place” actress ended her rant by praising Gomez as a “gorgeous” woman who deserved better than those hurtful comments.
