LOOK: OPM icons come together for ‘epic catch up’

Acel Bisa, Aia de Leon, Barbie Almalbis, Hannah Romawac-Olives, Kitchie Nadal, and Lougee Basabas are set to perform together in a one-night show

MANILA, Philippines – Six Filipina rock icons are coming together to perform in Tanaw, a one-night concert set for Saturday, November 26, at the Theatre at Solaire.

The three-hour show will feature Acel Bisa, Aia de Leon, Barbie Almalbis, Hannah Romawac-Olives, Kitchie Nadal, Lougee Basabas performing as solo artists and collaborators.

Five of the six women previously made headlines when they posted photos on social media of their “epic catch up” over a meal. Only Kitchie, who is based in Spain, was not included in the photo.

This will be the first time all six women will be performing together in concert, though they are all contemporaries of the late 90s/early 2000s music scene.

Barbie fronted the band Barbie’s Cradle before eventually going solo, while Aia was lead singer for Imago. Acel was the frontwoman of Moonstar88, Kitchie was lead vocalist for Mojofly, which Lougee currently fronts, and Hannah was vocalist for Session Road.

Barbie, Aia, and Kitchie have also performed together in the past, most recently sharing the online stage with Johnoy Danao, Ebe Dancel, and Bullet Dumas in a show to support the live music scene in the pandemic.

Tickets to Tanaw range from P1,300 to P4,600. Selling opens on Monday, October 17, at 12 noon via Ticket World. – Rappler.com
