JOHN Cleese has revealed that the new Fawlty Towers reboot will NOT air on the BBC as he opened up about the show.
The actor, who is best known for portraying Basil Fawlty in the sitcom, said that it would not return to its broadcasting home.

John, 83, who appeared on the BBC sitcom back in the 1970s, opened up about the rebooted series in a new chat.
It was revealed this week that Fawlty Towers will return for a reboot – with filming beginning in 2024.
But now, the actor has confirmed that it won’t be airing on the BBC.
The comedian said that the sitcom would be “in a very different form” to what fans would remember.
He hit out that the BBC lacked “the freedom” he remembered in the “60s, 70s and beginning of the 80s”.
“No, because you wouldn’t get the freedom,” John revealed, when questioned whether the sequel would be with the BBC in a chat on GB News.
“There’s a huge argument about wokery, and some of it springs from very good ideas, which is, ‘Let’s try to be kind to people’.
“But I believe it’s become too far dominated by people who are frightened of offending people.”
John Cleese will be teaming up with his real-life daughter Camilla in a reboot of the 1970s series.
The series will show the much-loved character running a boutique hotel while adjusting to the modern world.
The latest shows are likely to spark a bidding war between streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon.
American production company Castle Rock Entertainment, run by director Rob Reiner and producer Matthew George, is backing the new project.
Filming is likely to begin next year.
Cleese said: “When we first met, Matt offered an excellent first idea, and then Matt, my daughter Camilla and I had one of the best creative sessions I can remember.
“By dessert we had an overall concept so good that, a few days later, it won the approval of Rob and Michele Reiner. Camilla and I look forward enormously to expanding it into a series.”
