Huge eighties rockstar has barely aged a day 36 years after number one smash and Coke advert fame

ROBIN Beck was the striking rockstar with the chords of steel, whose hit song First Time was the soundtrack to the 1989 Coco-Cola commercial.

Now aged 69 and some 36 years on from her breakout success, the US singing star has hardly aged a day.

The singer performed a duet on Youtube with her daughter, the broadway actress Olivia Dei Cicchi, singing the hit song- Don’t You Worry Bout a Thing.

Not only is she still in great voice, but she still has the glamorous good looks that helped her to become a music star in the 80s, with her swishy shoulder length hair and flawless complexion.

The singer also wore a sleek fitted black jacket that showed off her slim physique.

Often considered one of the most versatile and gifted vocalists of her generation, Robin started off as a youngster on the broadway circuit, before singing a record deal in her early 20s with Atlantic records.

Her big break came with the song from the Coke commercial which saw her appear on Top of the Pops, as well as a slew of other talkshows in the UK and US respectively.

Other well-known songs of hers are “Save Up All Your Tears”, “In My Heart to Stay”, “Tears in the Rain” and “Close to You”.

“First Time” was successfully covered or sampled many times, the most recent was made by Sunblock in 2006, peaking at number nine on the UK Singles Chart Beck also performed it with German pop starHelene Fischer.  

Prior to finding success as a solo artist, Beck has also worked as a backing singer supporting Chaka Khan and Leo Sayer.

Her first album was released in 1979 and featured the backing vocals of Irene Cara and Luther Vandross,

Beck contributed backing vocals to Cher’s “If I Could Turn Back Time”, and another version of Cher’s song “Save Up all Your Tears”, both of which had radio success world wide.

On March 6, 2014, Beck started her “Perfect Storm Tour”, co-headlined by House of Lords and Estrella.

On May 21, 2015, Beck started her “All That Glitters Tour” which took place in Finland, Sweden and Norway.

Beck appeared at Rock Icons on August 7, 2015, in Alicante Spain.

It was revealed in April 2015 that Robin Beck was part of the Rockingham lineup at Nottingham’s Rock City October 23–25. Beck’s appearance was scheduled for the Friday, with Eclipse and following her in the line-up.[14]

Beck’s tenth album Love Is Coming was released by Frontiers on October 13, 2017.

She has been married to James Christian since 1996, in 1997 they welcomed their daughter, actress and singer Olivia Dei Cicchi
