Coolio‘s girlfriend Mimi Ivey has taken to social media to remember the rapper who died earlier this week. The model and reality TV personality posted a video montage of photos of the couple set to Coolio’s song, “C U When You Get There” on TikTok captioned, “Words can not express the pain that I am feeling right now. You are my soul mate, hubby, lover & best friend.”

The caption continued, “I’m so happy that you called me on FaceTime at 2am and woke me up out my sleep to tell me you love me and miss me. Messages of condolences, love, and support filled the comment section of the post. The video posted less than a day ago already has more than 1.2 million views, nearly 122,000 likes, and 6,800 comments.

The model also posted a tribute to Coolio on her Instagram page using the same caption with a photo of the two of them. Comments on the loving tribute included, “We’re all here for you and the family, sis. Anything you need, just say the word. My heart is with you ❤️❤️❤️,” “Here for you, Mimi. Coolio And Ivey Were On Reality Shows Together

Ivey appeared on the reality show “Celebrity Wife Swap” with Coolio in 2013. The couple also appeared together on the show “Love Goals” in 2020, which featured five celebrity couples, a therapist, and tons of drama.

Coolio, whose real name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr., found fame as a rapper in the late 80s, but got national recognition after his hit song “Gangsta’s Paradise” was featured on the soundtrack for the film, “Dangerous Minds” in 1995. Coolio had other well-known hit songs such as “Fantastic Voyage,” “It’s All the Way Live (Now), “C U When U Get There,” “Gangsta Walk,” among others. He shares four children with ex-wife Josefa Salinas, as well as six other children from previous relationships, and also has five grandchildren.

Coolio died on September 28 at the age of 59. Paramedics suspect that he suffered cardiac arrest, but an official cause of death has yet to be determined.
