This comes in the wake of Lana Del Rey sharing that her song written for a Bond film was also turned down.

Speaking at the Ivor Novello Awards in London, Lana admitted her track ’24’ was created for Spectre, but ultimately Sam Smith‘s ‘Writing’s On the Wall’ was chosen instead.

Reflecting on his own experience, Boy George commented on the video shared by the BBC: “I had two songs rejected and I lived!”

Back in March, the former I’m A Celebrity star revealed a bitter feud with actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson following reports that he was the leading contender to be the next James Bond.

Boy George took to X – formerly Twitter – to recount an alleged incident with the actor.

He wrote: “Oh, the new James Bond is that bloke who sneered at me in the kitchen when I went to see Rufus Wainwright at Sam Taylor Johnson’s house.

“I bet he’ll be good. Why don’t they cast me as a baddie and then we can really fall out! Lol!”

He was then asked by a follower: “Flirty sneer, or no?” to which he replied: “Why are you in my kitchen horror with shades of disdain”.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson ‘doesn’t have the look’ of 007 says James Bond expert Graham Rye

According to The Sun, Eon Productions is hoping to start filming the 26th Bond film later this year.

Aaron has been a hot favourite to take on the 007 role after spending years proving his credentials.

He started his acting career in 2000’s The Apocalypse and has gone on to appear in Angus, Thongs And Perfect Snogging, as well as the Kick-Ass films, Avengers and 2022’s Bullet Train with Brad Pitt.

Married to director Sam Taylor-Johnson, Aaron is vying for the top role alongside fellow actors such as Oscar-winner Cillian Murphy, Idris Elba, Henry Cavill, and James Norton.

When asked earlier this year whether he would step into Bond’s shoes, Aaron said: “I find it charming and wonderful that people see me in that role. I take it as a great compliment.”
