Rosalía: Motomami [Columbia]

The long-awaited follow-up to Rosalía’s Grammy-winning breakout 2018 album El Mal Querer has finally arrived. She teased its impending announcement in November with “La Fama,” her collaboration with the Weeknd. Following the album’s official announcement, she performed on Saturday Night Live and released the singles “Hentai,” “Saoko,” and “Chicken Teriyaki.”

Charli XCX: Crash [Atlantic]

Two years after her quarantine-recorded album How I’m Feeling Now, Charli XCX returns with Crash. The album features a number of guests, with Rina Sawayama appearing on “Beg for You,” and Caroline Polachek and Christine and the Queens joining her on “New Shapes.” Oneohtrix Point Never and A. G. Cook also co-produced recent single “Every Rule.” The album spans multiple pop styles, drawing from new jack swing, mid-’80s pop, and present-day hyperpop. Read Owen Myers’ review of Crash.
