YOUTUBER Ben Potter, also known as Comicstorian, was active on his channel and social media hours before he died due to an unfortunate accident.
Potter, 40, died on Saturday and posted his last ever YouTube video on Friday titled “Why DC’s Reboots Beat Marvel” – he was interacting as his usual upbeat self.

He went over how he has read many of the Marvel comics but noticed that there are still some missing key elements.
Potter called for a Marvel reboot and applauded DC Comics for already doing so.
“I don’t know anyone who wants to sit down and watch all the amazing Spider-man comics from the 60s,” Potter said in the YouTube video on Friday.
“I applaud you for having the time to do that…
“I actually think this is something that DC does way better than Marvel.”
Potter also was posting on Friday night to X, formerly known as Twitter, and was replying to fans.
The YouTuber spoke about his future plans and drops for the channel which were unable to be fulfilled after his death.
“For those wondering, Mangastorian video will drop tomorrow,” Potter tweeted on Friday night.
“We’re just behind in the edits. If we can get it done, One Piece will drop, if not it’ll be my take on My Hero (which is complete, I just haven’t launched it).”
Potter also cryptically tweeted about what he wanted to talk about over the following weekend.
“This weekend, should I continue the Wonder Woman story or Daredevil story?” Potter said in another Friday night tweet.
COMIC LEGACY
Potter attracted tons of devoted fans to his YouTube channel which has three million subscribers.
His channel is dedicated to giving an audio version of hundreds of different comic books and going into detail about what they’re about.
The news of Potter’s death was announced by his wife, Nathalie Potter, in a statement on X.
Nathalie did not give details of what occurred but gave a long tribute message to honor his life.

He covers different comics, universes, and characters.
His videos and content take comic books and turn them into audio dramas so you know what’s going on in the world of comics.
Potter said he does this because following every single comic book that comes out is expensive and difficult to do.
He also has a vlog, a gaming channel called Eligible Monster Gaming, a manga channel known as Mangastorian, and a rant channel titled Benny Has A Problem.

“To his loved ones, he was one of the best and most supportive individuals anyone could ask for.
“His channel was one of his greatest accomplishments, and while we all need our time to mourn him, I know he wouldn’t want it to end like this.
“Ben spent over 10 years spreading his love and appreciation for his hobbies.
“The team and I want to keep that going. To honor him by continuing to tell great stories by great people, as well as to keep the memory of our very own superhero alive.
“We supported each other on everything we wanted to do and I’m not about to stop now.”

Two days ago, on June 8th, my husband, Ben Potter, passed away in an unfortunate accident.
To many of you, he was Comicstorian, voicing stories from across multiple different mediums. To his loved ones, he was one of the best and most supportive individuals anyone could ask for. As a husband, a son, a brother, a friend, or even just a stranger, Ben was loving and genuine. He was someone who would listen and make time for his loved ones. He would do his best to make everyone laugh and make sure they were okay. He was our rock and he’d reassure his loved ones whenever they needed it.
He was my world and I need time to be with friends and family. I have so many things I need to figure out but firstly, I need to grieve. I ask that you respect my privacy as well as everyone else’s. Right now my priority is preserving everything he’s built and I don’t have any plans beyond that.
His channel was one of his greatest accomplishments, and while we all need our time to mourn him, I know he wouldn’t want it to end like this.
