Miranda Lambert stops another show amid Las Vegas backlash

Miranda Lambert Shouts Out Fan's 'Shoot Tequila, Not Selfies' Shirt

Miranda Lambert ain’t “settling down.”

The selfie-shaming country crooner called yet another unscheduled time-out in the middle of her Las Vegas residency on Saturday to address the audience.

This time, however, it was to enthusiastically express appreciation for a concertgoer’s t-shirt, reportedly emblazoned with the seemingly pro-Lambert slogan, “Shoot Tequila, Not Selfies.”

In a video posted to Instagram, Lambert, 39, who rather controversially unleashed an anti-selfie tirade at a recent show, can be seen whooping it up with fans after she spots the article of clothing.

“Her shirt says, ‘Shoot tequila, not selfies,’” the “White Liar” singer shouted to roars of laughter and applause from the crowd. “She did it, I didn’t!”

As the audience continues to roar its delight, the singer can clearly be heard telling the fan her shirt was “bada – -.”

In a token of appreciation, the fan then hands the songstress a tiny bottle of tequila which Lambert unscrews and takes a swig before offering it to her bandmate who downs the remainder of the alcoholic beverage in one.

The interaction with the audience member comes almost one week after Lambert lambasted a group of fans lining up for a selfie at an emotional moment during her set at Planet Hollywood.

According to the viral clip, Lambert stops the show a few bars into her hit “Tin Man.”

“I’m gonna stop right here for a second, I’m sorry,” Lambert said to her pianist. “These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song.”

“It’s pissing me off a little bit,” continued the songstress. “Sorry, I don’t like it. At all. We’re here to hear some country music tonight. I’m singing some country damn music.”

The video of Lambert “Actin’ Up” has nearly 4 million views on TikTok.

Following the reprimand, several fans got up and left the concert in protest, as heard in the audio of social media posts and indicated by reports from multiple music outlets.

“Let’s go — you don’t do that to fans,” one woman can be heard saying to her companions as they filed out of their seats.

The concertgoer, identified as Adela Calin, said being called out by the singer “felt like I was back at school with the teacher scolding me for doing something wrong and telling me to sit down back in my place.”

“I feel like she was determined to make us look like we were young, immature and vain,” she continued. “But we were just grown women in our 30s to 60s trying to take a picture.”

According to Calin, the selfie took “30 seconds at most.”

Last week, a video of the “Drunk” singer popping a beach ball resurfaced, adding more fuel to the fire.

Several music icons have also bashed the singer’s behavior.

“Miranda, get over it, baby,” LLCool J said while appearing on the “Mercedes in the Morning” podcast. “They’re fans. Let me tell you something about art — and I say this with love,” the hip-hop legend added. “So, your job as an artist is to create art. The way people choose to interact with that art or engage in it and appreciate it is up to them.”

Rapper Vanilla Ice poked fun at Lambert during his Atlantic City concert after telling fans that they could “take all the selfies you want” and that “this ain’t no Miranda Lambert concert.”
