7 New Albums to Stream Today: Bad Bunny, Franz Ferdinand

It’s the first major New Music Friday of 2025, and already, there are plenty of great new records to dive into.

Bad Bunny and Ethel Cain kicked off the year by offering new records on Sunday and Wednesday respectively, while rising stars like Moonchild Sanelly and Lambrini Girls return with bold, passionate statements. Plus, there are new records from Ringo Starr, Franz Ferdinand, and more to enjoy.

Bad Bunny – Debí Tirar Más Fotos

One of the world’s most-streamed artists has started the year with his sixth studio album, I Should Have Taken More Photos. Across its 17 tracks, Bad Bunny uses evocative visuals to explore the rich and complex history of his native Puerto Rico, delving into its colonization, diaspora, and repression. On songs like “Lo Que Le Pasó a Hawaii,” he reflects on the challenges facing the island and contemplates its uncertain future.

Ethel Cain – Perverts

Ethel Cain is back with Perverts, the challenging, avant-garde, wildly impressive follow-up to her breakout album Preacher’s Daughter. As previewed by the record’s first and only single, “Punish,” the new set finds Cain exploring ambient textures, extended drones, and noisy experiments — a bold shift away from the gothic indie pop of her previous effort.

Lambrini Girls – Who Let The Dogs Out

The Brighton-based indie punk duo have arrived with their ferocious, no-holds-barred new album. Throughout Who Let the Dogs Out, Lambrini Girls take aim at toxic masculinity, capitalism, homophobia, nepo babies, tech bros, and the frustrating systems and norms that tie these topics together. The last track on the album is called “Cuntology 101.” What more could you want?

Moonchild Sanelly – Full Moon

South African polymath Moonchild Sanelly has been building out her wide-ranging catalogue for over a decade now, but her third album Full Moon finds her at the height of her powers. As the pioneer of what she calls “future ghetto funk,” Sanelly’s thumping, high-energy jams are pretty hard to pin down, but she ties them together with her cutting, expressive voice.

Ringo Starr – Look Up

Ringo Starr (who, according to his Wikipedia page, used to drum for some band called The Beatles in the ’60s?) has returned with a brand new solo album, Look Up. The pop and rock icon uses the new set of songs, which he co-wrote with T Bone Burnett, as an opportunity to lean into his love of country music. Fittingly, he recorded the album in Nashville, with Burnett handling production duties.

Tremonti – The End Will Show Us How

Mark Tremonti, guitarist for Creed and Alter Bridge, returns today with his sixth studio album. In addition to fronting the band, who is rounded out by guitarist Eric Friedman, bassist Tanner Keegan, and drummer Ryan Bennett, Tremonti has been on the road with a reunited Creed. With both Tremonti and his former band touring throughout the year, 2025 might be his busiest year yet.
