THE wife of comedian Gary Owen wasn’t laughing after her ex opened up about their divorce on a recent podcast.
Kenya Duke lashed out at Gary, claiming he doesn’t “respect their boundaries.”

Gary and Kenya were married for nearly 20 years, before the couple went through a very public and drawn-out divorce after he cheated on her.
Now it seems time hasn’t healed all wounds, as the 49-year-old funnyman got serious when appearing on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast.
Gary discussed his divorce with the former NFL star, and revealed he hasn’t see his now-grown children since their contentious separation – and can’t understand why.
“I’ll take the blame,” he said on the podcast, addressing his current status with son Austin and daughter Kennedy. “I didn’t ensure that my relationship with them was so strong that no matter what anybody said to them they can be like, ‘Nah, my dad is good.’

“I just don’t know where it got so bad that I’m just the worst human being on the planet.”
He continued, “At this point, I don’t know how to reconcile the relationship. I’m just letting them know that I love them, I’m proud of them, and whenever they call I’m there.”
KENYA CLAPS BACK
But Kenya apparently disagrees with that assessment, and posted her response on Instagram.
“It has been 3 years,” she wrote, addressing Gary directly. “I am always kind and cool with you. I purposely, never make it awkward. I never bother you.
“I have given you my suggestions on the situation but you don’t respect their boundaries. Which is why you discussed this again on social media.
“I don’t know what else to do to help you. Always wishing you well.”
Next to that, she shared a text picture that read: “My growth is not feeling the need to address mistruths anymore.
“The grace and kindness, I have shown you, is the space to tell lies and false narratives for sympathy and attention without correcting.
“You are a great storyteller… sometimes I get caught up in your versions.”
At this point, I don’t know how to reconcile the relationship.”

Gary was was married to Kenya, an entrepreneur and podcast host, from 2003 until 2021, and the messy battle often became fodder for his stand-up act.
“I’m sure you guys have heard, I’m going through a very very messy, public divorce,” Gary said in previous clip he posted from one of his shows.
“Thought it was going to be private…wife had other plans. It is what it is, what are you gonna do? I ain’t the first one to get a divorce.”
Kenya met Gary Owen in the early 2000s at one of his Los Angeles stand-up shows.
She previously worked in real estate and since 2023, has hosted the Truly Kenya podcast.
Gary is a comedian who has headlined several comedy specials on Showtime and BET.
He also has appeared in comedy movies like Daddy Day Care, Little Man, Ride Along, and Think Like a Man.
In 2016, Gary and Kenya co-starred in a reality TV show, The Gary Owen Show, on BET that followed their lives with their children.
Gary has moved on from his failed marriage, and is currently engaged.
He welcomed twin sons in July 2023 with his fiancée.
