Ben Affleck may be repeating the biggest regret of his life if the actor’s own comments are to be believed.
Back in 2020, around the time of the release of his sports drama The Way Back, Ben Affleck sat down for an interview with the New York Times in which he said that his divorce from Jennifer Garner was the biggest regret of his life.
“The biggest regret of my life is this divorce. Shame is really toxic. There is no positive by-product of shame. It is just a toxic and hideous feeling of low self-esteem,” Affleck told the New York Times.
“It’s not particularly healthy for me to be obsessed with failures, relapses, and hurt myself. I certainly made mistakes. I certainly did things I regret. But you need to compose yourself, learn from it, learn a little more, try to keep going ahead.”
Likely adding to Affleck’s regret is how great Garner recently looked in Deadpool & Wolverine, seeming as though she’s barely aged a day since she last donned the Elektra costume in 2005. Deadpool & Wolverine even took a crack at Affleck with a joke about Daredevil that Garner reportedly approved.
Now, all signs point to Affleck having to live through this regret-filled experience again, as the Academy Award-winner is reportedly heading toward a divorce from Jennifer Lopez. Affleck and Lopez got married in July 2022 after rekindling their infamous relationship from the early 2000s.
The marriage between the pair has reportedly been a “fever dream” that Affleck has now woken up out of, leading to Lopez’s inner circle calling him a “Triple A a–hole.”
While Affleck and Lopez have yet to officially file for divorce, it’s reportedly only a matter of time as the pair haven’t been spotted together in months and have each made significant real estate moves, including Affleck buying a new mansion in Los Angeles.
Even though the romantic link between Affleck and Lopez appears to be fraying, their professional bond will remain intact for at least the next few months as Lopez’s new movie Unstoppable, premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, was produced by Affleck’s company Artists Equity.
