Ben Affleck has a “darkness” in him that cannot be fixed, according to sources close to his now ex-wife Jennifer Lopez.
After the A-list couple of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez officially filed for divorce last week, the knives have come out as sources are speaking to gossip mags such as Page Six, who have reported, via inside sources, that Affleck has a “darkness to him.”
“[Lopez] truly believed this was the greatest love story she’d ever known and she was finally getting her chance at the fairy tale. She just really didn’t stop to consider who the actual man was [in] the fairy tale,” an alleged source told the New York Post.
The source added that the kind of ‘big love Jennifer believes in’ is ‘not in [Ben’s] DNA’ — adding, “Ben has a darkness to him that no other person can fix. [His actress ex-wife] Jen Garner couldn’t fix it, all the success in the world couldn’t fix it. [via The New York Post]
Affleck and Lopez originally dated in the early 2000s before rekindling their romance in 2021 following their splits from Ana de Armas and Alex Rodriguez, respectively.
According to reports, while Lopez’s new film Unstoppable was produced by Affleck’s production company Artists Equity, Affleck himself will not be in attendance at the film’s premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Matt Damon, with whom Affleck co-founded Artists Equity, will be there, though.
Unstoppable sees Lopez starring as the mother of one-legged NCAA champion wrestler Anthony Robles, who is being portrayed by Jharrel Jerome.
Over the weekend, it was reported that Affleck had been seen with Robert F. Kennedy Jr’s daughter Kick Kennedy.
As for Affleck, he recently wrapped production on the sequel to his 2016 action thriller The Accountant, which will be released in movie theaters on April 25, 2025.
