GMA3 co-hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes still haven’t addressed reports of their relationship, but they have seemingly joked about it during Friday’s broadcast.
“You know, it’s too bad it’s Friday. It’s been a great week,” joked the 45-year-old Holmes, who elicited a laugh from his co-host. “I just want this one to keep going and going and going. Just enjoy it! Take it all in.” In response, 49-year-old Robach said, “Speak for yourself. I am very excited about the weekend—and I’m sure everyone else is too. We all love our Fridays around here. Some of us do, at least.”
Earlier this week, the hosts deleted their Instagram accounts after photos of them together and reports of their alleged romance surfaced online. Robach is still married to actor Andrew Shue, while Holmes is married to attorney Marilee Fiebig. The couples are rumored to have separated from their respective partners in August.
In the wake of the attention on the pair, ABC executives reportedly held emergency meetings on how to address the situation. However, staffers familiar with the situation have said that the network is not looking to punish the couple, at least in part because it’s potential “ratings gold.” Additionally, it’s been said that because it’s a consenting relationship between two adults with no power imbalance, ABC believes the two haven’t done anything wrong.
