Ozzy Osbourne has unleashed the latest single from his upcoming album, Patient Number 9. The new song, “Nothing Feels Right,” spotlights Zakk Wylde as the featured guitarist.
Wylde actually plays rhythm guitar throughout the album, which boasts guest lead work from such legendary axemen as Tony Iommi, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and MIke McCready. But on a few of the tracks, Wylde gets his moments to shine, including a mesmerizing minute-long solo on “Nothing Feels Right” beginning around the 3:25 mark.
Over the past 35 years, Wylde has been an on-and-off member of Ozzy’s touring and studio band, and had been on the road with Ozzy for his “No More Tours 2” farewell outing that launched in 2018. However, Ozzy’s various health ailments and the pandemic have kept him off the road for the past few years, though he hopes to resume his farewell tour in 2023.
Ahead of the new album’s September 9th release, “Nothing Feels Right” follows previous singles “Patient Number 9” (featuring Jeff Beck) and “Degradation Rules” (featuring Tony Iommi).
The song also comes a few days before Ozzy takes the stage Thursday night (September 8th) at SoFi Stadium during halftime of the NFL’s season opener between the home-team Los Angeles Rams and the visiting Buffalo Bills. The singer will perform a multi-song medley, some of which will be aired during the game’s broadcast on NBC.
It was also just announced that Ozzy, along with wife Sharon, son Jack, and daughter Kelly, will be returning to reality TV next year in the series Home to Roost. The program, which will initially air on BBC One, will chronicle Ozzy and Sharon’s move from L.A. back to England, as well as other aspects of the family’s life.
