Chadwick Boseman continues to live on in the hearts of many.Sunday, August 28, 2022, marked the second death anniversary of the “Black Panther” star, and it was commemorated by fans, friends, and family.
As you might know, Boseman passed away on August 28, 2020, after a secret 4-year-long battle with colon cancer. His legacy continues to shine on in the lives of the people he has touched.
‘Black Panther’ Cast & Friends Remember Chadwick Boseman
Boseman’s good friend and on-screen love interest in “Black Panther” Lupita Nyong’o, led the tributes. She uploaded a heartwarming video of the late actor signing his autograph for fans during an event. Nyong’o, who was behind the camera, asked, “Chadwick, what are you doing?” to which he replied, “I’m signing tickets.”
The Golden Globe winner proceeded to make fans and Nyongo’ laugh as he joked about signing some Jordan shoes when he’s not even a Jordan, referencing his co-star Michael B. Jordan who was around the corner. The “12 Years Of Slave” actress kept the accompanying caption simple, writing, “Kept it real, kept it kind.”
The comments section was flooded with comments from Hollywood stars and fans who has nothing but great things to say about the late thespian. Winston Duke, a cast member of “Black Panther” wrote, “Incredibly generous man…always sharing and helping and giving and loving… ugh… my heart … Ure missed beyond any words my brother… love love! Thanks, Lupita for posting our treasure… man oh man!! ❤️❤️❤️.”
Duke took his tribute to another level, reposting the video on his Instagram page with a heartfelt caption that read, “This video really captures Chadwick perfectly…he was an incredibly generous and loving human being. Always ready to give to the fans because he understood what his works meant to people .. what his own personal mission was in life… thank you brother; you are missed.”
Letitia Wright, who played T’challa’s tech-savvy younger sister in the MCU superhero movie, took to her Instagram Story to share a tear-jerking photo of her and Chadwick sharing a laugh as seen on video camera screen. Wright was staring at something on a phone while Boseman smiled.
“I miss hearing your laugh, I always tried to make you smile whenever we saw each other. 💜 💜💜.” In a follow-up update, she posted a picture of the entire cast and wrote, “We Miss You & Love You 💜 🕊.”
Fans Celebrate The ’21 Bridges’ Star’s Legacy
Fans joined in the tributes, sharing heart-melting moments of Boseman. Pop culture editor Ashley K. Smalls shared a hilarious 10-second clip of the Howard University alumni not breaking character during a blooper from the set of “Black Panther.”
In the clip, Danai Gurira broke character and laughed but Boseman maintained his African accent despite the interruption. The lovely video was captioned, “2 years without Chadwick Boseman. I always think of this video. He never even broke character. You are missed.”
Amon Warmann of Empire Magazine shared a similar sentiment of how Boseman was a good man. He uploaded a video of the late star surprising fans during an appearance on “The Tonight Show.” Warmann wrote, “It’s now been 2 years since we lost Chadwick Boseman. The other day I found myself rewatching this clip of him surprising Black Panther fans. On top of everything else, he was just a good, genuine dude. I miss him.”
Television host Jeff Conway wrote, “Two years ago today, we lost a King. I am so grateful that I was able to have a laugh-filled moment with Chadwick Boseman back in 2017. He was kind and he had a playful energy about him that was so captivating. You may be gone but you are far from forgotten, @chadwickboseman.”
Late Boseman’s Estate Was Split Between His Wife & Parents
Boseman’s second death anniversary comes two months after it was reported that his estate was to be split evenly between his late wife Taylor Simone Ledward and his parents. Before his demise, it was reported that the “Da 5 Bloods” star left no will.
Hence, Ledward was put in charge of handling all the financial matters and given limited authority over the estate. In a final report of accounting filed by Boseman’s widow, she ordered that the remaining $2.3 million left after reimbursement of funeral costs be split evenly among her and her late husband’s parents.
The funeral costs, which were reimbursed to Ledward, amounted to about $47,000 and consisted of $9,500 for the venue,$1,275 for the flowers, and $10k for the funeral service.

There was also another $ 7495 for a mausoleum crypt at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, South Carolina, and $22,000 for mausoleum crypts she bought for Boseman’s parents Leroy and Carolyn, so they can be laid next to him.
