A Ranking Of Dionne’s Outfits In “Clueless” – BuzzFeed – TV & Movies

The green t-shirt ensemble worn by Dionne was shown at the start of the movie, and it’s probably her most basic outfit. If anyone can make a t-shirt look sophisticated, it’s Dionne, but it’s gonna be last in my ranking of her wardrobe.

Dionne’s terrycloth top was matched with a plaid green and blue skirt in this scene. She was helping Cher conceal her flushed face with makeup before her hangout with Christian, proving that Dionne could easily balance being a loyal friend and looking darn stylish while doing it. It’s not highly ranked due to its simplicity, since I always love seeing Dionne in her purest fashion form: daring!

This outfit was a mix of Dionne’s love for bold prints and standout colors. Even though it looked chic and wearable for any occasion, it’s not her biggest standout clothing choice for me.

I like how Dionne added a pop of color to her black satin set with this striped  sweater, then matched it with some hot pink lipstick. Compared to other getups further along the list, it’s not my absolute fave, but she strutted on her school’s campus totally owning this fashion choice, so I give her points for that.

As far as Dionne’s wardrobe goes, this look is a little toned down. That being said, it’s an outfit that could easily still be worn today. I also like the fact that she matched her furry backpack with cheetah print pants.

Here Dionne is, just nonchalantly making a phone call in a laid-back look, but making it look fashionable as heck. The pop of color used with her orange jacket paired with blue jeans makes it very close to a top ten outfit for me.

This fashion moment was a cute twist on gym class attire. Dionne kept it classic with mixes of black and white, but threw in a printed hair bandana and gold accessories, which gave the look some additional flair. 

Dionne busts out one of her best hats for this scene when she’s behind the wheel and has a pretty traumatic incident of driving on the freeway. The fact that it’s such a memorable look when her whole outfit isn’t even shown is a testament to how cute it is.

Dionne’s outfit here is simple, yet fashionable – a long sleeve pink tee with understated gold jewelry. The floral accessories in her hair add just enough pizzazz to the outfit, and, bonus: her lollipop matches the ensemble. Even in her most uncomplicated clothing, Dionne is the queen of Clueless style.

This burgundy dress was definitely more traditional preppy than Dionne’s normal wardrobe choices, so it was cool to see her deviate a bit from her everyday looks. The knee-high socks add even more of a preppy vibe, and she worked it while posing for a photoshoot with friends, as you can see in the image on the right.  

Although it was seen really briefly towards the end of the movie, this outfit made a lasting impression. Dionne’s hair barrettes, neon green cardi and top, and gingham skirt with matching green trim is peak ’90s fashion. I’d wear this outfit any day, and it deserves more love than what it got.

During this scene, Dionne is arguing with her boyfriend, Murray, over him shaving his head, but to me, the real scene stealer is her party apparel. It has to be one of the most underrated outfits she wore in Clueless. The purple, red and green color scheme is gorgeous, and adding these colors to her braids was such an awesome addition. She looks great here, and I would even go so far as to say that this is one of the best ’90s movie party outfits ever. It’s for sure a top five pick.

You can count on Dionne to liven up an otherwise-ordinary blue outfit with unexpected bright red wardrobe pieces. And, she wore not just any red items, but opted for a patent leather red mini skirt and matching clutch, plus she pulled out some fishnet tights. Her commitment to fashion risks is amazing, and I’m loving this getup. 

The outfit Dionne donned at Mr. Hall and Miss Geist’s wedding was awesome. I love how her halter gown showed off some ink on her left arm, and her floral hair accessories in two shades of pink gave some dimension to the look. Furthermore, her very-’90s choker is a finishing touch that brings it all together seamlessly. This is an A+ look.

This is one of my all-time favorite Dionne outfits. She pairs red and orange, which you don’t see every day, and makes it look super effortless and natural, but still fun and unique! Her avant-garde hat takes this attire into camp territory in the best of ways, and I love the bold rep lip (I really wish I knew the exact shade Dionne wore here). In conclusion, it’s an epic wardrobe combo.

And, to finish off this countdown of legendary fashion, I’m ranking Dionne’s black and white plaid set and rose hat at number one. I know this may seem like an obvious choice since it’s probably the clothing she’s best known for, but what can I say? This outfit is a winner. The plaid set alone is super cute, but the bold hat totally sets it apart from the rest. If it isn’t the most iconic ’90s movie fashion accessory, then I don’t know what is. It screams powerful fashionista, and she wears it unapologetically and looks stunning, so this has to be my top choice.
