Midnight Pool Party weighs love and letting go on ‘What Am I Gonna Do’

Fresh off the release of their recent single ‘FIDELITY,’ Australian disco/dance-pop duo Midnight Pool Party returns with another shimmering banger — ‘WHAT AM I GONNA DO?’ — a track that fuses late-night grooves with emotional reflection.
The new single finds the Sydney-based pair once again blurring the lines between the dance floor and the diary. While the production features the slick, funk-infused textures fans have come to expect, the lyrics probe much deeper, navigating the emotional tug-of-war that comes from waiting for someone who isn’t sure they want to be with you.
Darren Morilla states:
“This song is about questioning if you will wait for someone who isn’t sure that they want to be with you, or if you should just move on and do your own thing. After speaking with Ollie about recent events in his life, and personal issues, I (Darren) wanted to put myself in his shoes and write from his perspective. Although exaggerated in many ways, just like all our songs, it’s definitely inspired by real-life events.”
Out now, ‘What Am I Gonna Do’ was co-written by Darren Morilla and Oliver Dela Cruz, produced by Midnight Pool Party, and mastered by Jack Prest.
