A massive tornado touched down in Nebraska on Monday near Dickens, a ghost town with a population of around 100 people. The tornado produced awesome images which were posted by storm trackers online.
A combination of wind, lighting, and a rainbow made some incredibly photogenic weather. Photos capturing the storm looked unreal.
Dickens is a small, unincorporated town in the western part of the state that’s best known for an accidental World War II bombing in the early 1940s.
This week, it went viral for having a few other objects drop from the sky, including a reported 2.5 inches of hail. A huge tornado made its way through the area, leaving Nebraska residents in awe.

Video of the Dickens, Nebraska tornado show its extreme size and strength.
Hail could be seen pouring down from the clouds in clips posted to social media. The width of the storm was massive as it seemed to stretch the entire skyline.

Lightning was spotted throughout the duration of the tornado, but the thing that caught most viewers’ eyes was a rainbow that flashed across the sky as the storm traveled side-by-side.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office posted an update alongside a few photos of their own from the Nebraska tornado on Monday evening.
No injuries were reported after it passed through the town.
This is far from the first storm to roll through the central United States this summer. In May, areas nearby Nebraska were hit with flooding and tornadoes. Those states impacted included Kansas, Colorado, Missouri, Texas, and Iowa.
This one might’ve been the most photogenic, however. Thankfully, no one in Dickens was hurt.
