The release date of Happy Gilmore 2, the sequel to Adam Sandler’s beloved 90s golf comedy, has seemingly been confirmed by one of the major Hollywood trade publications. According to reports, Happy Gilmore 2 will be released in July.

While Netflix has not yet announced the official release date and has only released a teaser trailer for Happy Gilmore 2 thus far, a random article about young actor in the film landing representation has seemingly confirmed the release date of the project.

In an article written by Deadline about actor Conor Sherry, who has a small role in Happy Gilmore 2, signing with Anonymous Content for representation, it was reported that the film will premiere on Netflix across the globe on Friday, July 25.

“Conor Sherry, an up-and-coming actor soon to be seen in Netflix’s Happy Gilmore 2, has signed with Anonymous Content for representation. Sherry stars alongside Adam Sandler, Margaret Qualley and Ben Stiller in the sequel to the 1996 golf comedy classic, which premieres July 25. Currently, he can also be seen starring opposite Saturday Night‘s Gabriel LaBelle in Snack Shack, a ’90s coming-of-age film.”

While plot details for the film have been kept under wraps, BroBible exclusively reported last summer that the 1998 U.S. Open will feature in the film after signage for the competition was seen on set at the Beacon Hill Country Club in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey.

“It’s been almost 30 years since we last saw Happy Gilmore, the long-driving hero who won in the Tour Championship in 1996. Now, we finally get to catch up with him in a new sequel,” Netflix said when announcing the project in 2024.

In addition to Sandler, Christopher McDonald, Julie Bowen, Dennis Dugan, Allen Covert, and Ben Stiller will reprise their roles from the original, while Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Scott Mescudi, Margaret Qualley, Benny Safdie, and Nick Swardson have also been added to the cast.

Alongside the actors, golfers such as Professional golfers Keegan Bradley, Bryson DeChambeau, John Daly, Tony Finau, Rickie Fowler, Brooks Koepka, Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, Jack Nicklaus, Corey Pavin, Xander Schauffele, Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Lee Trevino, and Will Zalatoris are set to cameo in the film, as are other celebrities such as Eminem, Reggie Bush, Travis Kelce, Dan Patrick, and professional wrestler Becky Lynch.
