From SoundCloud remixes to headlining the Hollywood Palladium, Ray Volpe‘s artistic evolution has been leading to one monumental announcement: his debut album, FOREVER, VOLPETRON.
Volpe announced the news in front of a sold-out crowd at the famed LA venue over the weekend. The show, which he characterized as “the best night of [his] entire life,” marked the finale of his barnstorming “VOLPEVERSE” tour.
Volpe, whose seismic drops and anthemic melodies have become a staple of today’s bass music scene, called the moment “too surreal to process.” But for fans, it felt inevitable. The EDM.com Class of 2022 star has been steadily shaping the genre’s next chapter, whether through viral hits like “Laserbeam” or high-profile sets at the world’s biggest festivals.
For Volpe, whose sound has ranged from teeth-rattling dubstep to emotive melodic pieces, a full-length album represents the apogee of a career spent defying genre boundaries. The announcement marks a significant milestone for the producer after 15 years of honing his distinctive sound in electronic music’s trenches.
“I’ve always tried to stick to what I believe in, sonically,” Volpe wrote on social media. “It’s finally time to put all of this together. Every influence, every ounce of my being, into a full body of work. This album is a love letter. From me, to you.”
Volpe has not announced the release date of FOREVER, VOLPETRON at the time of this writing, but said the album is due out “later” in 2025.
