One of the best things about growing up as a fan of an artist is watching them evolve as you evolve. I’ve personally felt that with Rihanna, who is almost exactly a year younger than me. I’ve watched her go from a trendy teen singing “Pon de Replay” to pop culture powerhouse to a billionaire mom of two with a full on fashion and beauty empire. Rihanna’s evolution also means she’s getting into some new projects that her boys will love, like being Smurfette. Yes, you read that right. Rihanna is Smurfette in the upcoming Smurfs movie, which just dropped its witty first trailer.
The clip starts off with Rih herself introducing us to Smurfland before her character Smurfette starts setting the scene. Things are all good until, well, they are no longer good. The Smurfs have a mothasmurfin’ problem and they have to come to our world (specifically Paris) to save their own.
