Singer-songwriter Björk is taking the stage for Apple Music Live: Cornucopia. The film is executive produced by Talkhouse and will be released on January 24 at 7pm PT / 10pm ET.
The Icelandic singer-songwriter known for her boundary-pushing sound and theatrical performances will perform Cornucopia, a one of a kind digitally animated show with moving curtains, a modern lanterna magica for live music. The show brings 21st century VR visuals to life in the form of 19th-century theatre.
The concert was recorded in Lisbon, Portugal, with the setlist arranged to celebrate Björk’s lifetime of creative innovation. The show’s live-recorded songs will be available to stream in spatial audio exclusively on Apple Music following the release of the live show. You can see a trailer for the performance below.
Talkhouse partnered with Björk, Level Forward, and Snowstorm Productions to fund and create the film. “We’re privileged and ecstatic to partner with Björk again,” says Talkhouse President Ian Wheeler. “Like everything she does, the film is an unparalleled achievement. This also marks the first of many to come film projects produced by Talkhouse.”
Björk will also sit down with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe for her first on-camera interview in a decade. The singer-songwriter will give fans a rare glimpse into her creative process. She speaks with Lowe about her new climate-focused film ‘Cornucopia’ and how she creates her music using technology, what it was like working with esteemed biologist Sir David Attenborough and more.
Björk: The Zane Lowe Interview will air January 23 at 10 am PT / 1 pm ET on Apple Music 1. The exclusive Apple Music Live: Björk performance will debut the following day on January 24 at 7 pm PT / 10 pm ET. Fans can then stream the Apple Music Live performance any time on demand or listen to the live-recorded tracks on Apple Music.
