Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs (aka Pigs x7) have announced a new album titled Death Hilarious, along with releasing the new single/video “Stitches.” The UK stoner-metal act’s fifth LP will be released April 4 via Missing Piece Records.
Death Hilarious serves as the follow-up to Pigs x7’s 2023 album, Land of Sleeper, while the song “Stitches” follows previous single “Detroit” (which was named Consequence‘s Heavy Song of the Week upon its release in November). The two singles are among the nine songs that make up the tracklist to Death Hilarious.
Pigs x7 frontman Matt Baty stated of the new single, “I’m aware our band sits in a world largely commandeered by bravado, confidence and machoism, but ‘Stitches’ is an expression of vulnerability, paradoxical emotions and those so familiar pangs of anxiety I wrestle with while butting heads with societal expectations and personal struggles.”
In a press release, Death Hilarious is described as “a diversely punishing record that shape shifts through Sabbathian doom, grotesquely minimalist noise rock and cyclical post-metal fortissimos.” Guitarist/producer Sam Grant added, “We wanted it to be a slap in the face.”
Pigs x7 will support the new album with a UK tour in April, followed by a European jaunt in May. Tickets are available here.
