Cyclops has been a major love for fans with his iconic ruby-quartz visor and unshakeable determination. Undoubtedly, he was the heart of many moments in the Fox-Marvel era. Now, as MCU prepares to introduce its own version of the X-Men, we’re wondering if James Marsden’s version of Cyclops could make a return.
Well, good news, Marsden has recently teased the idea of reprising his role, especially with Hugh Jackman’s return in Deadpool & Wolverine.
James Marsden Tease Cyclops Return
In a recent conversation with Screenrant, James Marsden took a moment to reflect on his Marvel legacy while promoting Sonic the Hedgehog 3. He expressed his excitement over seeing his old co-star suited up in the classic Wolverine costume, but the big question for fans is, will he ever reprise his role as Cyclops in the MCU?
He shared, “I know so little about all of that. I loved the movie, Deadpool & Wolverine, it was great, and seeing Hugh back in that costume was great. I look back on that experience with such affection and reverence for all of it, and I loved playing that character. It was one of the highlights of my career, for sure. So, it was a joy and yeah, I mean, I don’t know what they’re doing or what’s happening with it all, but it was always fun to put that costume on.”
Well, he definitely has left us wondering if Cyclops could return to the big screen alongside the new X-Men team.
Will Cyclops Return In Marvel’s X-Men Universe?
Reflecting on the early Fox-Marvel days, those films were definitely a bit like the superhero genre’s wild adolescence, yes awkward, but special in their own way. James Marsden, who’s been there since day one as Cyclops, can’t help but feel sentimental seeing Hugh Jackman back as Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine. With Cyclops still holding strong in the Marvel Comics world, he’d totally be on board if Marvel called. But until then, we’ll just have to wait and see if the X-Men reunion happens.
