A new Las Vegas restaurant owned by superstar actor Mark Wahlberg went up in flames on Wednesday, just one day before Wahlberg was supposed to attend its ceremonial ribbon cutting.

The restaurant, which is named Flecha Cantina, is the second location owned by the 53-year-old with the first opening in June in Huntington Beach, California

People magazine reports that the first started due to an inground fire pit on the patio, but it did not cause significant damage to the building.

“The fire crew came and put it out right away,” a spokesperson told People. “No damage at all in the interior restaurant. The only damage was the fire pit and the chair next to it. Thankfully no one was injured.”

The restaurant is named after the tequila brand Flecha, which Wahlberg bought into in 2022 alongside LIV Golf star Abraham Ancer.

“They’re self-made guys,” Wahlberg said of Ancer and Flecha Azul partner Aron Marquez at the time. “I don’t knock anyone for coming from wealth or privilege. But I do have an appreciation for people who have created their own destiny, like Abe and Aron.”

The spokesperson for the restaurant did not state whether the ribbon-cutting ceremony will still take place on Thursday.

The online menu shows traditional Mexican fare such as ceviche, tacos and enchiladas as well as signature cocktails.

On the acting side of things, Wahlberg recently starred in the Netflix-exclusive film The Union alongside Halle Berry.

“Mike (Mark Wahlberg), a down-to-earth construction worker from Jersey, is quickly thrust into the world of super spies and secret agents when his high school sweetheart Roxanne (Halle Berry) recruits him on a high-stakes US intelligence mission,” the official Netflix description reads.

Wahlberg, of course, all owns the much-acclaimed Wahlburgers chain alongside brothers Donnie and Paul. The chain was the feature of a TV series on A&E which ran from 2014-2019.
