Whenever October rolls around, Krispy Kreme unleashes a new assortment of seasonal doughnuts, each themed to the spooky season. Last year, it was Scooby-Doo, and before that, we had assortments based on witches and monsters. This year, Krispy Kreme’s Halloween selection has a Ghostbusters theme. These four doughnuts, which you can see below, showcase familiar Ghostbusters iconography, celebrating the original film’s 40th anniversary.

Yes it’s true, these treats are no trick. When it comes to Halloween this year, you know who to call. Krispy Kreme is the gatekeeper to Halloween sweetness and Sony Pictures Consumer Products is the key master to bring spooky-sweet Ghostbusters doughnuts to our fans this year. You’re welcome, Gozer (the movie’s ancient villainous diety).
Among the selections is Ghostbusters cookies n’ cream, a chocolate iced original glazed doughnut, topped with Oreo pieces, Oreo buttercreme, and a “No Ghost” logo candy. The Slimer Doughnut is an unglazed doughnut with a lemon-flavored green filling, dipped in purple and green icing, and with a Slimer candy. The Ecto-Sprinkled Doughnut comes dipped in orange-colored icing, with neon sprinkles. Finally, there’s the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man Doughnut Pull-Apart. It’s powdered doughnut dots, marshmallow-flavored buttercreme, and Marshmallow Man candy.
The doughnuts come in a specialty box that looks like one of the film’s iconic ghost traps. There’s even a new Ghostbusters-themed drink, the Slimer’s Slime-ade, colored “a signature ectoplasm green.” Ghostbusters, which debuted in theaters 40 years ago, continues as a signature pop culture franchise. A new movie, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire came out this year, as did a haunted house in Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights. In addition, a new animated series is on its way. Love for this franchise will continue in this life, and into the next. The Ghostbusters doughnuts are available from October 7 at select Krispy Kreme locations.
