On Monday, Jax, 45, shared an Instagram photo in which he read a pamphlet while sitting on the couch.

“A little over a month ago, I checked into an intensive inpatient treatment facility scared of the unknown and what I would find out about myself,” he wrote in the lengthy caption.

“After many years of knowing something was wrong but not knowing exactly what it was, I recently learned that I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and PTSD.”

The Valley star said that while the situation has been “a lot to process and an emotional time,” he now has a “new found sense of peace.”

“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared for the future but my focus is just trying to be a better version of myself than I was yesterday,” he added.

“Mental health is a lifelong battle of not letting it control you but rather you learning to control it.”

Jax also thanked followers for reaching out in support and those who shared their own struggles via messages.

The update comes after Jax and his ex-wife Brittany, 35, announced their separation in February.

The reality couple began dating in 2015 and married in 2019 in a ceremony filmed for Vanderpump Rules.

They welcomed their only child, son Cruz, in April 2021.

Jax was reported to have checked into the mental health facility at the end of July after spending time apart from Brittany, who moved out of their shared home.

“Jax has always been candid about his mental health struggles, especially during the past few months on his podcast,” Jax’s rep told TMZ.

“He has made the decision to seek in-patient treatment. This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family. They ask for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more on this matter.”

The Valley, which premiered shortly after they announced their separation earlier this year, has also been filming the couple’s lives this summer for Season 2.

Last week, it was revealed that Brittany had officially filed for divorce from the Vanderpump Rules OG.

The Kentucky native cited “irreconcilable differences” for their split and asked the court to terminate spousal support to both parties.

The documents stated that Brittany wanted primary and physical custody of their son and would allow visitation from Jax.

Hours after the news broke, Jax was spotted grabbing dinner with his fellow co-star Jesse Lally, who is also going through a divorce.

“He is close with Jesse Lally right now and they are leaning on each other amid divorces,” a source told The U.S. Sun.

“Jesse invited him out on Tuesday evening to Craig’s to support him after the news.”

The insider noted that Jax’s friends didn’t want to “leave him alone at the moment” and were “rallying around him.”

“Jax is understandably gutted it has come to this, but he respects Brittany’s decision, she is still the mother of his child, and they are focused on making Cruz the priority,” they added.

The source also said that Jax went home alone that night after dinner.

Brittany filed for divorce to end the “tumultuous cycle” they had been living in, per People.

“There’s a lot that has transpired over the past few months that she could not look past.

“This decision wasn’t made lightly but she feels adamant that it was the right one,” they added.

Fans saw the two argue repeatedly during Season 1 of The Valley.
