Adele announces indefinite hiatus from music after Vegas residency

Say goodbye to Adele.

The singer, 36, confirmed over the weekend that she’s taking a long break from music after her Las Vegas residency ends.

“I have 10 shows to do, but after that I will not see you for an incredibly long time, and I will hold you dear in my heart,” Adele said in a TikTok clip from one of her performances in Munich, Germany.

“Noooo,” another fan said.

“Good for her! Enjoy your break Adele,” a third comment read.

Fans speculated that Adele is taking time away from her career to get married to her fiancé Rich Paul. She confirmed her engagement to the 42-year-old sports agent at one of her earlier Munich shows last month.

The “Easy on Me” artist already has a son, 11-year-old Angelo, with her ex-husband, Simon Konecki.

“I feel Adele is going to have another child with her finance get married and live a normal life,” said one of the TikTok comments.

“What if she pregnant again lol,” another fan wrote.

The “Set Fire to the Rain” singer first shared the news about her break from music in July.

“I don’t have any plans for new music at all,”she told German outlet ZDF.

“I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while,” she added.

Adele began her Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in November 2022. Her final show is scheduled for Nov. 23.

She just wrapped up 10 special shows at the Open Air Arena in Munich.

When announcing the final dates of her Vegas residency in October, Adele penned a heartfelt note about what the Sin City shows have meant to her.

“This residency, these shows have changed my life,” she wrote on X. “I desperately needed to fall back in love with performing live again, and I have. I needed to reconnect with my songs and remember what they mean to me, and I have!”

She went on: “Being onstage over the last year so up close and personal with an audience again after all these years has been a truly extraordinary restorative experience that I’ll never forget. All the hilarious, soulful, wild and heartbreaking interactions we’ve had are banked in my mind for life.”

Adele’s last album, “30,” came out in 2021. She typically releases a new album once every few years.

In December 2023, Adele told the Hollywood Reporter that making new music was not on her radar.

“I get nervous about wearing my voice out [at the residency]. It’s a lot of singing. It’s two hours. It’s all live. It’s a lot,” she said. “And I f–king motormouth and chat me ass off as well. But yeah, I have nothing to say yet. I haven’t even thought about it.”
