QOTSA Cancel Remaining 2024 Shows as Josh Homme Receives Medical Care

Queens of the Stone Age have announced that they’ve canceled or postponed all of their remaining 2024 concerts in order for frontman Josh Homme to “receive essential medical care.”

Earlier this summer, QOTSA were forced to nix several dates on their European tour as Homme had to travel back to the United States for emergency surgery. The band then canceled even more European gigs in August, with Jack White filling in their slots at certain festivals.

The newly affected concerts are all North American gigs that were set to take place this fall, including headlining shows in Boston, Cincinnati, Chicago, and Madison, Wisconsin, as well as the Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the Mempho Music Festival in Memphis, and the Corona Capital Festival in Mexico City. The band is working on rescheduling the headlining shows for 2025, but unfortunately has to cancel the festival appearances outright.

In their new statement, Queens of the Stone Age wrote the following:

“QOTSA regret to announce the cancellation and/or postponement of all remaining 2024 shows. Josh has been given no choice but to prioritize his health and the receive essential medical care throughout the remainder of the year. Josh and the QOTSA family are so thankful for your support and the time we were able to spend together over the last year. Hope to see you all again in 2025.”

While no specific health condition has been mentioned in any of the statements that QOTSA have issued this summer,  Homme did reveal in a June 2023 interview that he was diagnosed with an unspecified cancer the year prior. A few months later, in November 2023, he disclosed that he was cancer-free.

Here’s wishing Homme a full and speedy recovery concerning his current health issues. The affected Queens of the Stone Age concerts are listed in the Instagram post below.
