ROSEANNE Barr has defended National Anthem singer Ingrid Andress after her viral Home Run Derby performance.
The singer addressed her critics on social media on Tuesday, revealing that she was heading to rehab to seek treatment.
Rosenne, 71, came to Ingrid’s defense in an interview with TMZ.
The controversial comic, who herself came under fire for her poor performance of the National Anthem many years earlier, claimed the song is the “hardest in the world” to perform.
She also told TMZ that she felt Ingrid’s performance was just fine, noting that it was nowhere near as bad as her performance.
Roseanne sang the National Anthem during a baseball game, screaming the lyrics in a cracking voice as she plugged her ears.
Boos erupted from the audience before she grabbed her crotch, spit on the ground and walked off.
The performance was condemned by many, including then-President George H.W. Bush.
INGRID’S PERFORMANCE
Ingrid took the field on Monday night in Arlington, Texas, to perform the National Anthem during the Home Run Derby.
Players were on the field with her, many holding their hats over their hearts.
While many managed to hold straight faces, some struggled and were caught laughing as Ingrid struggled through the song.
After the country singer was done, X – formerly Twitter, was flooded with harsh critiques of her singing.
“Who actually pays for her music and to go see her??” one critic asked.
A second social media user mocked, “This is what a Grammy nominee made by Auto-Tune sounds like without Auto-Tune or musical accompaniment.”
“My ears are bleeding,” slammed yet a third.
“It sounds like she didn’t know the lyrics,” a fourth commenter reacted.
A fifth critic based, “The worst National Anthem I’ve ever heard.”
“They just be nominating anyone for Grammys huh,” a sixth critical commenter said.
Someone else confessed, “I was embarrassed for her.”
INGRID REACTS
On Tuesday morning, the Michigan native owned up to being drunk during her performance.
“I’m not gonna bulls**t y’all, I was drunk last night,” she wrote in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
The 32-year-old admitted that she planned to check into a rehab facility to get treatment.
“That was not me last night,” she continued.
“I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country that I love so much for that rendition.”
She added that she would let her supporters know “how rehab is,” joking that she hears “it’s super fun.”
The post drew mixed reactions, with some supporters praising her for taking responsibility and others less convinced.
“You’ve owned it, now you’re taking responsibility. Here’s to overcoming!” one person wrote.

Ingrid Andress
“I’m sending you love, Ingrid. Being this open takes a lot. You’ve got this. Hang in there,” a second wrote.
Others continued mocking the star, picking on her for the wording of her post.
“Saying rehab is super fun is ridiculous. Sounds like you are making a joke about something that is very serious for others,” someone critiqued.
“Seems like a weird way to pass it off, and try to receive some sort of fake validation, the joke at the end loses all sense of credibility for the previous statements,” a second slammed.
