Emma Roberts has gotten engaged to her boyfriend Cody John after nearly two years together.
On Tuesday, the American Horror Story star announced the news on Instagram.
Emma, 33, shared a photo of herself and Cody with the caption, “putting this here before my mom tells everyone.”
In the selfie, the Madame Web actress was shown hugging her new fiance while showing off her engagement ring on her finger.
The pair smiled happily at the camera while standing in an open field with a scenic lake in the background.
Both friends and fans rushed to the post’s comment section to congratulate the couple on their engagement.

One person wrote, “Omg!! Congratulations beauty.”
“I love you, congratulations,” commented another in all caps.
“HELL YEAH EMMA. Congrats to you both!” added a third.
Emma and Cody went public with their relationship in August 2022.
While the couple occasionally share moments of their life together on social media, they are mostly private.
Emma shares a son, Rhodes, with her ex-boyfriend, Tron: Legacy actor Garrett Hedlund.
The pair have co-parented Rhodes since the news of their breakup came out in January 2022.
“It’s been easy for Emma to co-parent with Garrett in a healthy way because she is so happy,” a source told Entertainment Tonight in October 2022.
John announced that he and Emma were dating with an Instagram post in August 2022.
The Wu-Tang: An American Saga actor shared a black-and-white photo of them kissing on a yacht, with the caption, “sweet sweet.”
“[Emma’s] been very content with Cody, and they’re enjoying their relationship and time together,” the insider told ET.
“Their friends and family are happy for the both of them and think they make a great couple,” they continued.
Emma posted a photo of herself and Cody holding hands together on Instagram to welcome in 2023.
She captioned the New Year’s Eve post, “#2022 I loved you. happy new year hotties!”
The couple attended Coachella together later that year and were recently spotted at a Lacoste fashion show in March 2024.
Last week, Emma provided a peek into a date night with John in an interview with People.
“I watched the movie The Iron Claw with my boyfriend, and the two of us were sobbing,” Emma told the outlet.
“It was just a disaster of crying and then laughing at each other for crying, which made us cry even harder,” she continued.
One can be sure more tears, this time of joy, were shed when the pair got engaged just days later.
