Heatherton shared her secrets for staying healthy on plane trips to Vogue. “I always sleep on the plane first of all. I always carry with me facial cleansing wipes, hand wipes and lip balm and put on a facemask. It’s important on long haul flights to keep your face hydrated. And I force myself to drink a huge water bottle before I go to sleep.”

Heatherton makes sure to eat a healthy diet. “I always eat healthy because you don’t want to dig yourself in a hole,” she told People. “The best diet is to focus on what you should be eating, and knowing how the foods you’re eating are helping you be healthier and look more beautiful. What you put in your body is what makes you glow and look healthy and gorgeous.”

For Heatherton, wellness means doing what feels right to her. She tells Vogue, “I found over my years of experience the less you push it and the less that you are trying to do it, the more it just comes to you. So I think that’s an important message to women – to do what feels right for your body. I think if your body is happy and you’re happy, you look better. If your body is happy it also tells you what you need and what you’re craving, within moderation.”

Heatherton revealed to People that she likes to do ballet-inspired workout classes. “My body is very athletic, so the exercises that really help my body are things that are lengthening,” she explained. “I’ve been doing Ballet Beautiful since 2013, and I’m still in the falling-in-love stage. It re-taught me how to stand, and a different way to hold my weight, so it helps me move as a model as well.”

Heatherton does a variety of workouts to stay fit, and shared some of them with Glamour. “I do yoga and Ballet Beautiful, mostly—Ballet Beautiful four to six times a week, and then three to six times a week I do 30 minutes of cardio and yoga. I love incline walking—I put the incline up all the way and go to 3.0, and that’s really great to get your butt and hamstrings and make sure that you’re not pounding your knees. It’s a great ab workout too. And then when I’m warm I do 30 minutes of yoga.”
