Brittany Mahomes is sharing how she got ready for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit (spoiler alert, she didn’t have to). Mahomes, 28, posted a video of herself wearing green two-piece workout gear, using dumbbells for a strength training workout. “People have asked me a lot what I did in the gym to get ‘Swimsuit Ready’. Fun fact – I shot for @si_swimsuit on literally a week’s notice 🤪 I always preach that staying consistent in the gym and fueling my body well is what helps me be the best version of myself year-round, not just during swimsuit season!” she captioned the post. “If u stay ready u don’t have to get ready,” commented Jena Sims. Here’s how Mahomes stays fit, focused, and living her best life.
Mahomes has a background as a college soccer player. “When I was playing professional soccer over in Iceland, I didn’t have a ton to do outside of soccer, so I found myself spending a ton of time in the gym working out, creating workouts, and posting them online,” she told Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. “I realized that I was enjoying that so much more than actually playing soccer.”
Mahomes is a professional trainer and loves hitting the gym. “I enjoy strength training and lifting weights mostly, but also walks with the kids and the dogs,” she told Eating Well. “Staying active is a huge priority for me as a mom because I believe that it helps me to be the best version of myself for my kids, both physically and mentally. Being able to run around with them and teach them to play sports as they grow is so important to me!”
Mahomes enjoys a balanced, delicious diet with her family. “To me, eating well means enjoying nourishing foods with those I love, and for our family that also means ensuring it’s healthy and safe for our kids,” she told Eating Well. “I hope to help get this information in the hands of more moms and families navigating life with children with food allergies like us so that they can be confident in their food choices!”
Mahomes wants to encourage other women to live their authentic lives. “Be confident in who you are and be unapologetically yourself,” she told Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. “People are going to love you or hate you, but finding your values and what makes you ‘you’ to be the best version of yourself is what really matters. Whether that’s health and wellness, being a great wife or mom, or career goals, being the best version of you is the most important thing you can be.”
Here is Mahomes “simple but effective” leg day routine that she shares in her social media post. As Sims comments, Mahomes never has to get ready because she is always ready.
- Single leg deadlifts
- Pause squat (I used a dumbbell)
- Curtsey lunge w pulse
- Banded hip thrust
