SNOW PATROL have dusted themselves off after drummer Jonny Quinn and bassist Paul Wilson quit last September.
The Northern Irish group, now a trio consisting of Gary Lightbody, Johnny McDaid and Nathan Connolly will release their first album in six years called The Forest Is The Path, on September 13.
Last night they dropped the first single, The Beginning, in which Gary addresses the losses in his life – which could be his bandmates’ exits or his decade as a single man.
Speaking about the track, he said: “It’s a way of looking at various mistakes, any pain I may have caused, from a place where nothing is hurting any more except the memory when you pull it back into your mind.”
They will also be touring next February, with tickets on sale from Friday, June 7.
It’s good to have you back, lads.

GOSSIP singer Beth Ditto and drag artist Bimini will join photographer Rankin on the judging panel for Abbey Road Studios’ Music Photography Awards.
Submissions are open until July 18 for the annual celebration, ahead of the ceremony on October 3.
Shania’s sob song
SHANIA TWAIN has been weeping in the studio as she lays down some of her most emotional tracks yet.
Working on her seventh album, she said: “I wrote a song and I teared up about this song. It’s not out yet.

“It’s called Heart Is Full. It really moved me. My plan is to make it one of my strongest.”
Shania will play Glastonbury’s afternoon Legends slot in June and is excited about seeing the crowd.
Speaking to Jamie Laing on his Great Company podcast, she added: “I really love that the sun is still out.
“That’s very unusual when you’re a headliner at a festival – you’re normally on when it’s dark. I’m gonna be able to see everybody.”

RADIO 2 DJ Scott Mills will tie the knot with long-term partner Sam Vaughan in Sitges, eastern Spain, on Saturday.
I’ve learned they have hired a newly renovated luxury villa to house many of their guests and it is where they will walk up the aisle.

The pair have also planned a whole week of activities for their nearest and dearest, with pals flying in on Tuesday for the celebrations.
Generous Scott and Sam have forked out a fortune to provide goody bags for guests too – who will also receive complimentary massages and enjoy evening meals with the happy couple.
Scott is due to walk down the aisle at 5.30pm before a late-night party.
Thankfully there is a barbecue planned to soothe people’s hangovers the next day.

JON Bon Jovi has confirmed my exclusive story that his son Jake has tied the knot with Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown.
I revealed last week that the couple had secretly got married in the US.

“It was a very small family wedding and the bride looked gorgeous, and Jake is happy as can be. Yeah, it is true.”
